I just discarded the landline phone and then moved my wireless router up next to satellite DVR so I could update program guide over the Internet. Something's screwy in the phone line, though, because the router cannot hold DSL signal even though the phone updates worked well. So back went router to basement and I do not have a phone or Internet connection to DVR.

I have been inspired that changing router firmware to dd-wrt, figuring out why it would not work next to DVR and trying to solve two wireless print server problems, and I do not want to attempt to do something that appears logical but that everyone else knows will not work.
