Thread: The Upgrading Acer Aspire One WIFI to Wireless-n

I have AO751H-1211 aspire one netbook. It comes with a mini pci-e card that I want to upgrade to an Intel 5300 or 5350 wireless-n card. On Intel’s site, they mainly ensure 100% compatibility of these cards if they are used in combination with Centrino based processors. My netbook has a 1.33 GHz Atom processor along with a Mobile Intel US15W Express Chipset. I observe upgrading wifi on netbooks all the time. Will I be ok with my choice of wifi cards?

Before you think attempting to include a different internal card, many laptop/netbook companies lock the BIOS to particular wireless cards. I have a absolutely good 802.11n card in my closet that won't work in my HP or Toshiba laptops, both of them hang during the boot and showing that I have an unsupported wireless card. They will ONLY accept the particular PCI ID that was shipped with system.
