Default The Internet Connectivity My router's fault

    Hello,everyone

This question has been asked previously also, but in all situations it was only Vista's problem, or the people who had Vista. I have both Vista and Linux Mint, and on both operating systems I have similar problem.

I buy laptop last November, and apart from two big virus scares, it is been great. Back home in Oregon, at both my old house and my parents' place, it had no problems at all attaching to internet and getting a good connection in general. At my old place I even had Qwest, and it was fine. I just moved to Colorado, and got Qwest here because it was apparently cheaper than Comcast, and it is horrible. I am not sure if it is Quest's service here or if it is the router my dad sent me from Oregon. The router is a Netgear WGR614 v6.

Here issue is that I can attach to internet, but it is not without a fight. The bad is with Facebook, and this problem happens with both Linux and Vista. I will open a browser with Firefox, Google Chrome, or IE8, and most of the time Google loads well, but recently iGoogle has been loading all except my gadgets, which show "Server Cannot Be Found" errors. Then, I will attempt to go to any other page, and it says "Page Load Error: Server Cannot be Found." After refreshing the page sometimes, it will load correctly, but if I click a link on the page, the similar thing happens going to the link. With Facebook, It will only load certain things. It will not add pictures, and sometimes even load the buttons, and I can very infrequently attach to facebook chat.

When I execute Windows Diagnostics, both times it shows something that cannot be solved automatically, but it interchanges between saying me "There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server (DNS) Configuration" and "Windows has confirmed that this computer is having connectivity issues." I am quite sure it is not laptop, because I can attach to wireless at work and get online rightly, no problems at all, on either Linux OR Vista.

Should I speak to Qwest about this and complain about it, or is it my router being particular? I am tending to think it is Qwest, but I did not have issue with them earlier. Certainly, earlier I was in a house and now I am in an apartment. Does that make a difference?

    Hi,

One way to ensure, avoid router for a moment at home and notice if problem continues, if it does, then Qwest, if it does not, then finicky router or wireless problems if it is wireless.
