Hello,everyone
My technology knowledge is not good.
In my home there are three PCs in which two are wireless and third hard wired with a coax cable to a router/cable modem (Verizon). Yesterday, the wired pc missing its capability to attach to internet. It cannot locate any networks, and I cannot ping it. I do not want to blame my son, but he did attempt to install a security program (Kaspersky) which I had him take off.
Rather than having an IP address like 192.168.1.x, it has a different IP address that I do not know, but surely is not a 192.168.x.x Unfortunately, I have been attempting to repair it for about 4-5 hours and hopefully I did not mess things up too much. I called Verizon and they said as the other pcs are attaching to internet, it’s not their problem.
Here question is that how can I know something that can repair through configuration, or if it’s a hardware problem?

One option is a non-Windows firewall blocking the PC from getting an IP configuration. Could be Kaspersky if it did not uninstall entirely and cleanly. Try Safe Mode with Networking. If that works, then Kaspersky or other firewall is a main suspect. If it does not work, a firewall may still be the problem, but it is less likely.
Another software option is the driver. Ensure that you have the most recent from your PC or Motherboard Company’s web site. If you already have the most recent utilize Device Manager to uninstall it; restart and allow Windows find out the adapter and reinstall the driver.
Hardware faults could be in router LAN port, the cable between router and PC, or the NIC.
Connect a machine straight to the wire and router port that you are using to attach this machine.
