Thread: The Connecting to a Novell server using the UNC Path

I have a Novell 3.1.4 server that was used as a print server and a host for legacy programs, and I was attempting to get PC to attach to it. In the browse feature on Windows XP, it gives only windows networks but no Novell networks on my LAN. Is there something that I want to download to get it to see the network?

There was a Netware client on previous versions of Windows. Now I checked, and XP still has a Netware client, attempt installing that and the IPX/SPX protocol and see if you can make some progress.Microsoft networking will not see the Netware server at all.

Well, you will obviously require knowing that the name/password for Netware server, that's not going to come from the client.

I feel it's a good move to discard that server. I would attach that printer to a parallel port ready print server rather than tie up a system having it attached.
