Default My System Freeze up problems

    Hi,

My system started to freeze up unexpectedly. I do not have an error message to provide, as screen was covered in skewed multi-color horizontal lines. This was happening before any new updates. I did windows safety updates yesterday and it is still freezing.

    System: Toshiba Notebook
    Intel TM2 Duo CPU P7350 2GHz processor
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 - 512mb dedicated video
    4 GB Ram

Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit

We had this occur to another Toshiba, but we can't remember what was done to repair it.

Hi first attempt updating your video driver, does it make any difference if you change angle of the screen. If an update does not work you may want to look at the cable connecting your screen to the motherboard, you may also want to look at a possible problem with your video card. If you have a warranty get in touch with Toshiba, do not open the machine if you have the warranty.

    Thanks for your response.

I tell you everything is updated. I definitely can't play with wires as this is a NOTEBOOK, and yes, it is under warranty. As I mentioned before, we have had this problem earlier, but I can't remember what we did to repair it. I feel it was a driver update, by my system is saying all is up to date.

That means little as far as drivers are troubled go to company support web site for you make and model PC or video card makers and download most recent drivers from there uninstall old one then install the new. If you have no happiness with it then contact Toshiba.

As for RAM, no, I have not modified anything internally.

I don't know if problem is solved, but I closed the laptop cover this morning, came back to it tonight, and all keyboard lights were on, but laptop wouldn't come out of hibernate mode. I just modified the sleep options for "plugged in" setting to "never sleep". So I will observe if that works for that one.
