LaCie recently declared the 12big Rack Network, an all-new 19-inch 2U rack-mounted NAS along with iSCISI for SMB and branch offices. This venture NAS/iSCSI machine is build on an Intel server class motherboard, an Intel Quad-Core Xeon Harpertown E5410 2.33 GHz CPU along with 2GB of RAM.

Thanks to the hardware RAID controller, the 12big Rack Network sustains six RAID modes (RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50). It presents 12 3.5-inch drive bays along with two 2.5-inch bays. The storage server is pre-installed with Microsoft’s Windows Storage Server 2008 Standard Edition.

LaCie’s 12big Rack Network is presented in 6TB, 12TB as well as 24TB storage models.
