Sony EyeToy is a USB camera for Playstation 2. EyeToy was initially out with purpose of being utilized for Playstation 2 video games; incorporating motion capture and sound captured from webcam into games. Though, EyeToy can also be attached to PC and utilized to perform more standard and universal webcam tasks. Attaching EyeToy to PC is no more difficult than setting up a PC particular webcam and can be finished in some minutes.
Instructions
1. Attach this to PC by USB cable. Screen that appears that read "EyeToy Namtai" or "EyeToy Logitech."
2. Detach the Eye Toy.
3. Right click on a blank space of desktop. Choose "New" and click "Folder. Download the EyeToy drivers. Save the drivers to the new folder you just made.
4. Right click the driver folder. Choose "Extract to here...". This will put content of the drivers in the folder.
5. Right tick "OV519.inf" file. Choose "Open with..." and select Notepad.
6. Push "CTRL" and "H" all together. This permits to search for particular text in Notepad.
7. Find and modify all the lines with "VID_05A9&PID_8519" to "VID_054C&PID_0154" if camera recognized itself as a Logitech camera or to "VID_054C&PID_0154" if camera recognized itself as a Namtai camera.
8. Look for DeviceDesc="D-Link VGA Webcam." Modify text between quotes to "EyeToy."
9. Click "File" and choose "Save." Do not modify original file name.
10. Again attach EyeToy to PC. You will be prompted to search for drivers. Click "Browse" and choose new folder extracted the driver contents to. You will be informed that "EyeToy Webcam is now fully operational." You can now utilize it in any applications that take benefit of webcams or microphones.
