A company network enables offices to share files, backup data, email and save crucial data. The company network plan is dependent on the kind of requirements for the office. Small offices having few people don't require much security or high-end options like large organization. Server installations and huge data stores are costly, so they are mainly planned by large organizations. After finding out the requirements, plan a corporate network.

• Select the type of options required. The 2 kind of networks are peer-to-peer and client-server. Peer-to-peer is like a plan seen in houses. There is restricted security, and it's mostly for file and print sharing. Client-server has various options with security, administration, and advanced networking like email servers, intranet installations, and database for proprietary software.

• Make the client PCs for networking. Install network cards for every PC. Count every PC on the network to plan the number of network cards required.

• Determine the number of network will be maintained. Network administration is accomplished by outside mentor or on-site professionals. If having a smaller network, capacity to pay a consultant to come on-site only when having a problem, which is reasonable. Large networks with more safety and choices need a full-time employee.

• Plan backup procedure. Backup process saves files in case of disaster. Disaster recovery plans help business get back up and running while a server or HDD crashes. Backup system is external tape drives, DVD or CDROM, or some organizes store data on another network HDD.

• Determine the type of OS for the network. The OS used for servers should suit the client device. If client device are Windows, install Windows server OS on the servers. This decreases the conflict errors and communication problems across the network.
