Internet connectors, the small plastic edges of Internet wires, enable connecting Internet or Ethernet wires to the wall, router, PC and other machines. In place of buying readymade wires, cut your own depending on the length. If a cable stops working or a connector breaks, cable your own Internet connectors. This saves time as well as money from buying replacements. Cabling your own Internet connectors takes several minutes per connector.
• Cut Cat-5 cable to the preferred length. Add minimum three inches to the total length of cabling accidents while the rest of the procedure.
• Use the cable stripper to strip one inch from the Cat-5 cable.
• Undo all exposed cables. Put the cables from left to right to make a straight through cable: Orange or White, Orange, Green or White, Blue, Blue or White, Green, Brown or White and Brown. Straight form cables connect PCs and machines to routers, hubs, switches and modems.
For a crossover wire that connect 2 PCs with no core or switch, put the ropes for the second side of the wire in order Green or White, Green, Orange or White, Blue, Blue or White, Orange, chocolate or White and Brown.
• Level the exposed cables and get rid of all kinks. Trim sides of the cables to half their original length to make sure the wires are of same size.
• Plug the exposed cables in the RJ-45 connector.
• Make sure that you've plugged the sides of the cables to the end of the connectors and located the colors in the right order. If leaving any wire open, take out the cables and trim them. Repeat this process till rendered the cable coating flush with the end of the connector.
• Plug the connector in the crimp equipment. Press till hear or feel a small pop. Take out the connector, and pull the wire to make sure that you feel no slipping.
