When installing a new router resetting the Cable Modem is required that comes along with the Comcast in order to work properly.

Generally cable modem is plugged in a router and computer in router. If configuration is more complicated than this, the directions will still work; simply need to make some changes.

• Step 2

Disconnect the network cable and insert in the Cable Modem.

• Step 3

Insert the power cord in Router.

• Step 4

Insert the network cable in the new Router.

• Step 5

Remove the cable from the old router connected to computer.

• Step 6

Press the Cable Modem's Reset Button and wait for a few Minutes.

• Step 7

Insert the power cable of new router in outlet. The router should have a network cable between router and Cable Modem. Allow the router boot up fully.

• Step 8

Insert network cable in new router.

• Step 9

Run the Install disc of Router in order to get the IP address.

• Step 10

After installing Router, check computer's IP Address.

• Step 11

Open web browser and see if able to go online.
