How to Use a Single Wireless Net Connection on Multiple PCs
Nowadays mobile Internet suppliers have made a huge network where Web access may be accessed from almost everywhere. While on the go with a bunch of other people, everybody doesn’t have a wireless Internet plan for access, in which case to share connection in a parking lot when everybody parks for the night. Or, just want to share one wireless connection with multiple PCs in house. Modern technology has again pulled through, supplying a practical and easy way of doing it.
• Take all PCs to a local technician and install a wireless LAN card. Leave all encryption settings "OFF" for manual configuration.
• Step 2
Ask OS owner's manual for how to access the network settings for the system. Go to the network settings configuration wizard on all PC.
• Step 3
Give a network name for all PCs and type it in system's "Computer Name". Under this window, set all PC to accept "DHCP Only" so the PCs will receive an IP address from the wireless router as per requirement. "Apply" and "OK".
• Step 4
Connect the wireless modem in router's WAN slot.
• Step 5
Connect the EVDO router's power cord and consult the router's manual to decide whether it is working properly as per the producers instructions.
• Step 6
See the power indicator light on wireless modem to make sure the router is supplied with power.
• Step 7
Ask the router manufactures manual to locate the access information for the router, and also the default user name and password. To access the router's log-in window, the router's IP address is also required.
• Step 8
Enable a Web browser and type the IP address of the router in the browser address screen.
• Step 9
Type the default user name and password and click "Submit". Set router to DHCP mode and set "Broadcast Network ID" to "ON". Router might also need wireless internet supplier’s gateway IP address and log-in data to make use of wireless modem. Type that data while in the configuration settings. "Apply" and "OK" after making these modification but leave the router configuration window open.
• Step 10
Select preferred security encryption way in router's "Wireless Security". Normally the selection will be either WPA or WAP. Configure a wireless security key and remember the key and type it in the wireless security settings of the networking consoles on all PCs, ensuring that you choose the same encryption form: WPA or WAP. Click "Apply"
• Step 11
Type the modem's IP address in Gateway.
• Step 12
"Apply" and "Save". "Apply" and "Exit". Restart all PCs and see that Internet access is working properly.
