How to Configure a DDNS

Various online companies provide DDNS, providing clients the capacity to use 1 domain name in spite of the changing IP address of their web application. Certain organizations provide free basic versions of their DDNS products, charging a fee for enterprise-level and corporate service. Research the present DDNS services to search a service to meet particular requirements. DDNS is easy to use and may be configured in a few steps.

• Choose the best DDNS service as per requirements.
• Step 2
Open a Web browser and type the URL for the site of the selected supplier.
• Step 3
Make a new user account with the DDNS supplier.
• Step 4
Download and then install the DDNS client application.
• Step 5
Go to the Configuration page of the DDNS supplier. The DDNS will be configured on net, and the client program will access the configuration depending on the user's account qualifications.
• Step 6
Type the hostname for the website or Web program under "Hostname".
• Step 7
Check "Wildcard?" checkbox to make wildcards possible.
• Step 8
Enter an entrance under "Time To Live". This indicate how extended the site hostname will be cached on the server.

• Step 9
Test out "A-Record Pointed to IP Address," "Offline Hostname," or "Web hop Redirect".
• Step 10
Choose "Auto-detect" to find the IP address of PC through the client program, or manually enter IP address in input box.
• Step 11
Enter URL for the "Redirect URL". The Redirect URL is the domain name or IP address of the purpose website or Web program.
• Step 12
Check "Cloak the Page" to hide the actual destination URL and put back it with the changing domain name supplied by the DDNS.
• Step 13
Enter "Cloaked Page Title", if selected.
• Step 14
Set Mail Options for the new hostname under "Mail Options."
• Step 15
Hit "OK" and save.
• Step 16
Open a browser and go to the administration page for the network router.
• Step 17
Select "Port Forwarding" and open a port for the DDNS.
• Step 18
Verify the new DDNS domain connection name via a different Internet access.
