Most homeowners and small-business owners are finding the advantage of wiring their apartment or offices for network connectivity. Printers, home entertainment and Internet radio can all be made available to any room in home. By including a patch panel and network slots, connecting PCs or accessories to the network becomes fast and simple.

• Buy a cabling punch down tool, network cable tester and a network cable patch panel as per the number of ports required. Select a place to mount the panel in the place where the network wires end.

• Step 2

Examine the 110-style punch down connectors on the back of the patch panel; make a note of the dissimilarity in the "A" and "B" color code. Use "B" code, which is the common network standard.

• Step 3

Cut damaged places on the outer jacket or sharp bends from the network wires. Score the jacket about one and half inches from the end. Take off the scored jacket.

• Step 4

Undo all pairs of cables. Make all the cables straight. Keep similar colors cables together.

• Step 5

Place the fan between the 2 rows of connectors on the patch panel for port using. Match al cables to the corresponding color in the "B" color scheme. Pull the cable between the 2 bisects of the connector for all colors.

• Step 6

Use the punch down equipment to push the wire in the connector. Ensure that the cutting edge on the end of the tool is on the outside of the connector so that it trims the excess cable. Do the same for all the cables.

• Step 7

Check connectivity between the panel and the wall ports. Hook the remote end to the port in the panel, and then connect the wire tester to the wall port at the other side of the wire. Do the same
