A wireless adapter is a tool that allows PC to connect to Internet or other networks with no Ethernet cables. Using a wireless adapter allow free touching of PC wherever in the houses.

Step 1

Insert wireless USB adapter in an open USB port on PC. If having a wireless USB adapter, just connect it to any USB port. It doesn't need a power cable; it uses PC as its power source.

Step 2

Find the network adapter port on laptop. On laptop, purchase a particular type of wireless adapter made for these PCs. Laptop wireless adapters are long and slim, and they plug directly in a port on the side of the device. Plug the wireless adapter in its port. At this point, a light on the wireless adapter will light up, showing that it is functioning.

Step 3

Install wireless adapter. On a desktop PC and have determined to purchase an internal wireless adapter, open laptop's case to connect it. Power down PC and remove it from the wall. Pull off the side of PCs case and locate a vacant plastic port near bottom of device. Known as a PCI port, and it is used for hooking new hardware to motherboard. Insert the wireless adapter in PCI port, and start your PC.

Step 4
Install all software’s and drivers that came along with the wireless adapter. Regardless of the form of wireless adapter brand, it includes CD, DVD or a flash drive having important software required for functioning. Install the software form the CD or DVD and reboot.
