To block the unwanted and unofficial websites in categories to make sure that staff do not download any malicious content on the company network. Various categories are pop-ups, peer-to-peer file sharing, freeware or software downloads, and IMs.

Step 1

Launch WFilter. This is an application used for blocking websites from staff’s PCs. It can also block websites in various categories.

Step 2

Click Web tab under Blocking Level Settings. Enter "blocking web" under the Name text box and "website category rule" in Desc box. This opens the sections required to apply the Web Category Rule on the network and secures staff from opening any sites with categories.

Step 3

Check "Enable Web Category Rule". Click "New" from the menu. Save changes.
