Domain name system is a part of the Internet protocol that translates PC or website names to IP addresses. Microsoft Windows has a special configuration network file called "hosts." To block a website access it is enough to add a command to the system file. Blocking website enables blocking access to unsuitable Internet pages or malignant websites that viruses or install spyware on PC.

• Log in to administrator account in Vista/XP and open "Start" menu.

• Open "All Programs" and go to "Accessories." Select "Notepad".

• Select "File" In Notepad and select "Open." Navigate to folder "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc" on PC.

• Enter "hosts" under "File name" and select "Open." The content of "hosts" will be in the editor window.

• Move to the bottom of "hosts" file.

• Add the below given line at the end of the file:

"IP address of website".

• Repeat Step number six to add other websites to block.

• Select "File" and "Save" to save "hosts" file. Then select "File" and "Exit".

• Restart your PC.
