Home network checking can be handy to check traffic patterns or to find out about the kind of data sent to and from various PCs in home to decide whether somebody is monitoring on your network. Checking a house PC network is very easy using certain applications, which captures network traffic on a network.
• Connect target PC and check PC to a hardware hub, so that PC has the capability to see all the traffic from target PC.
• Install Microsoft Network Monitor on main PC, following prompts on window. After the installation is completed, start application.
• From Start, choose network adapter to main PC and hit the "New Capture" tab.
• On New Capture, hit "Start" to start capturing traffic. As traffic on network is recorded, it will be sorted on left hand side, to see the target PC and main PC is sending and receiving.
• After viewing a procedure or application come up, that means the appellation has sent or received some data. Click on application to see the traffic and data that was sent or received. In Frame Summary, see the websites and IP addresses accessed by application and the data sent and received.
• Hit plus symbol to view a list of various data sent and received between PCs.
• Select "Save As" to save traffic analysis in file or to maintain records the activities.
