Built with an antenna-free design, the Netgear WNR3500 WLAN router packs six built-in antennae for improving its range and performance. The router is feature-rich, based on the IEEE 802.11 big and Draft-n wireless specifications and additionally supports five gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed wired connectivity. Configuring the router is a breeze and a help window is available on the right side of the configuration window. The router features standard settings and security features such as WEP/WPA-PSK/PSK2. A new feature added in the router is the parental control which is an excellent website blocking and filtering security feature for homes, schools, cafes and small office environments. It also features WPS technology for quick, secure and hassle-free Wi-Fi networking. The router can be configured as a repeater for extending the range in case one needs to deploy wireless networking in larger areas such as offices or malls. The build quality of the router is a disappointment as the shell is quite feeble and the huge box-shaped body is quite a put-off. The glossy body can easily be scratched and stained, and the bundled stand is very delicate causing the product to be very unstable when kept upright. Although there are a few hiccups with its looks and build quality, the product does not compromise on its performance and features.
