Thread: Ethernet Connection

I have Acer Aspire T180 PC with Time Warner cable and I installed Vista on it. But here the problem is I can't obtain Ethernet cable to function. The USB working well but if I attach Ethernet cable then I lose connection. Please help me to solve the problem. Any help will be appreciated.

I am connecting it into Arris Touchstone Telephone Modem that was given by Time Warner. Now I am linked to internet through USB connection. When I attempt Ethernet, I detach USB totally.
