Thread: Acer safety password issue

My Acer aspire 5300 hard drive crashed. There is other drive from Acer 5500z that motherboard went but when I install drive it asks for safety password. So please tell me how to solve this problem.

This is windows password or password that in bios?

I do not know. I do not memorize giving any passwords. Few people told me that Acer, dell, hp give security passwords into products.

If it appears directly when you start PC then it must be bios security password. As severe security choice was not chosen in bios do the steps given below.

* take out power cord and battery

* take out the keyboard

* detach rtc battery for five minutes

* connect rtc battery again

* connect power cord, but leave battery outside its inlet.

* switch on notebook

* now bios was cleared

*enter bios and restore to factory defaults
