Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 start new utility NETCAP.EXE which performs similar to authority prompt version of GUI Network Monitor device. Netcap offers capture capability from authority prompt; to open.cap files, use full Network Monitor interface.

Netcap install Network Monitor driver and connect it to all adapters when first work Netcap authority. Following authority is example of Netcap authority. To capture traffic on NIC 1 BY means of 10 MB buffer, use following control: netcap /n: 1 /b: 10. Netcap typically stops capturing when buffer is finish. To capture traffic with "First in First Out" buffering, which is avoidance for Network Monitor, use the following control: netcap /t n. You must remember that if you want to stop capture, push SPACEBAR.
