Thread: Sharing W7 with XP across LAN

I have two folders and I want to share them. First folder has content that I can’t want to be changed by user. Second folder on which changes and file uploading allowed, But I do not want to open this folder on other laptop without putting Password. So please tell me how to share W7 with XP across LAN.

In Windows 7 there is setting to control to ask for passwords. It can be in Computer Properties, then go to Advanced Settings and in Network and Sharing.
