Thread: Torrent velocity much slower with router

I have bought a d-link router and when I use it then my torrent speeds would not more than 120kB/s without the router. In fact, my torrent is running with the speed of 500kB/s. Is it a general router problem or do I have to reconfigure the utorrent? All possible replies and suggestions on this topic are very much appreciated. I am waiting for the same.

Which one torrent Client are you working with? If Azureus, do you have the latest version? Have you installed the safe_peer plugin installed?

To find out the routers IP, use the command prompt

• You have to go a web browser, and type in your IP address where you would normally move to a website.

• You will be prompted for a user name and password

• You will require finding the parts which says Port Range Forwarding.

• I have included in the ports for Torrent files, 6881 ~ 6889.
