Background tab is region of OS connected to show properties. Where working, background tab permits to modify and customize desktop background features. This feature of Windows XP can be spoiled through virus or hard disk error. In any event, as background tab is part of OS, restoring it means repairing OS in full.

Instructions

Step 1

Put Windows XP installation disk and restart system.

Step 2

Press any key when commanded by startup messages to start from CD.

Step 3

Press "Enter" to start installation process. Push "F8" to agree with licensing arrangement.

Step 4

Choose "R" button to do repair installation. This will change all OS files on PC, including background tab.

Step 5

Choose drive upon which version of Windows XP is installed from list onscreen. This starts automatic repair process.
