System32 directory is where Windows saves many system important files. Problems hardly ever happen from directory itself, but files in become damaged or go lost as software is installed and removed. Any problem in System32 directory will change PC action. Processes can become unsteady and overall performance will damage. There are many causes for System32 associated problems, but general problems can be repaired by limiting which programs are active at startup, cleaning out registry and running Windows Update.

The System Configuration Utility

Step 1


Go to "Start," click "Run" and type "msconfig" in field. Push "Enter" to run System Configuration utility.

Step 2

Click "Startup" tab for list of programs that run at system startup. Stop programs that are not vital to Windows, video card, sound card or other devices attached to PC. Every PC will have different list of startup programs, so it is up to user to decide what is vital.

Step 3


Click "Apply" to save settings, click "OK" and then reboot PC when prompted.

CCleaner's Registry Cleaner

Step 1

Download CCleaner. Install and run CCleaner.

Step 2

Click Registry icon in CCleaner, uncheck "ActiveX and Class Issues" and "Installer" choices and then tick "Scan".

Step 3

Click "Fix Selected" Issues, and then tick "Yes" in verification window to create backup of registry. Click "Fix All Selected Issues", and then tick "Close" when task is finished.

Windows Update

Step 1

Go to "Start," "All Programs" and then click "Windows Update."

Step 2

Click "Check for Updates," then install important update. PC must restart and run Windows Update again, based on number of updates.

Step 3


Keep on running Windows Update and installing critical updates until no more are available.
