Windows Media Center is multimedia function that permits to see favorite TV shows and more from ease of PC. As Media Center is added with many versions of Vista and 7, it is not added with XP Professional. Only method to install Windows Media Center on PC running Windows XP Pro is to upgrade to Windows XP MCE.

Instructions

Step 1

Put in first Windows MCE installation disk. Choose "Install." Installation program scans PC for now installed Windows products.

Step 2

Select option to do an "Upgrade" installation as opposite to "Full" installation. This will shorten time it takes to install Media Center as maintaining all original files and settings from XP Professional.

Step 3

Put in second disk when prompted by auto-installer.

Step 4

Go back to disk one at end of installation. PC will restart with Windows Media Center completely installed upon reloading.
