Although Windows 98 is an outdated OS that sees small use, there is still dedicated user base that guarantees by it. Removing Windows 98 from dual boot is easy process that only takes some minutes.

Instructions

Step 1

Open "My Computer" and choose main hard drive. For most PCs, this is "C" drive. After open, you will see sequence of folders that contains "Windows 98" folder.

Step 2

Erase "Windows 98" folder.

Step 3

Open "MSCONFIG" from "Run..." and type "msconfig." After "msconfig" enter in run box click "Run" to start program.

Step 4

Choose "BOOT.INI" tab from top of System Configuration Utility. This shows menu with boot loader code.

Step 5


Click "Check All Boot Paths." This reads through BOOT.INI file and scan for all Windows OS on hard drive. After it finds that it does not have Windows 98 on hard drive, small window will load to notify you that path to run Windows 98 is not valid and ask you if you want to delete it.

Step 6

Click "Yes" to delete file. Now, Windows start straight into post Windows 2000 OS.
