Default Problem in booting with XP & Ubuntu

When I start system at dual mode, I have installed two OS windows 7 and XP but I think to install new OS Ubuntu and I installed after removing windows 7 from system. When I start system it shows options for XP and only one option for Ubuntu. When I choose ubuntu it is functioning well but when I go for XP it happen few error which is "Error 12: Invalid device requested".

First install OS in different places and Install windows 7 and XP with similar disk but installation of Ubuntu must be on other partition.

Ubuntu is like Linux but does not follow rule of storage and partitions. Also follow NTFS partition and does not happen error regarding file system.

When system begins, BIOS signals to first boot device which can be any devices that you had specified as boot device. First sector of Hard disk is Master Boot Record (MBR).This sector has only 512 bytes of space and has little bit code in 446 bytes space and 64 bytes is for partition tables which shows configuration of primary and extended partitions.

MBR loads defined boot sector in memory and diverts control to GRUB which overwrite default MBR using contained code.
