    Default Malware security in MAC

My PC is running on MAC and Leopard. They are interrelated to network and I had not installed anti-virus in PC because of its hardware. PC has failed many times and now if I install other software then it won’t work. So I upgraded it to Snow Leopard. Does Snow leopard has integral virus security like firewall or defender service in Windows.

Check back in MAC OS X 10.4 there is new validation system introduced by Apple for files which is File Quarantine. This is dialog box appears often when you get anything in mail or download file. Action becomes quick when start internet and working on Mail. This warning is for those unnecessary nasty applications come from site.

In Snow Leopard if doesn’t have security then depend on this service. When try to open infected file then you get warning message about file. You recommended to remove file and validation box will show. It is suggested to remove file immediately. So this gives out integral virus security without using third party software.

File Quarantine acts as observer for infected files which enter PC without information. It alerts about infected files from untrusted sources. System also alerts user when he open other application installed or added to Applications folder. Quarantine system is based on database LaunchServices Leopard, which saves all applications files added to Mac user.
