To store Word 2008 for Mac files in other file type, execute steps given below.

1. Start Word 2008 for Mac document.

2. In File menu, click Save As.

3. In Save As box, enter name for document.

4. In Format box, choose file format that you need. E.g. to save document in format that open in previous editions of MS Word for Mac, choose Word 97–2004 Document (.doc).

5. Click Save.
