    If you want to speed up your Mac, Follow the steps given below:

    • Switch your monitor to the least colors your Mac permits;

    • turn off the "Calculate folder sizes" and "Show disk info in header" options;

    • turn virtual memory off, or set it to the amount of actual RAM plus 1 MB;

    • Turn AppleTalk off.

    • Repair Permissions - A lot of programs when installed do not have the accurate system permission which can sometimes cause system crashes. To repair disk permissions:

    1. Open Application/Utilities/Disk Utility

    2. Choose your HDD and under the Repair tab, click Repair Permissions.

    3. Your file permissions will be repaired

    • Add more memory (RAM) - OS X likes much memory. Adding up memory to your PC is the quickest way to get better performance

    • Delete unnecessary files - OS X utilizes 'Virtual Memory' which means it uses the HDD as memory. Lots of space available on the HDD, the more space OS X has to create virtual memory.
