Thread: Accessing Linux from Windows drives

I have dual boot desktop computer with windows vista and Linux, I want to recover my data from disk media depending on Linux and I would like access to Linux from Windows. So please help to accessing Linux from Windows to regain data. Any help in this matter would be appreciated thanks in advance.

1) First of all expand "filesystems" identified by Windows that is to contain Windows kernel layer of management that requires access to Linux. This known as IFS and there is Ext2 IFS for Windows, friendly with XP and Vista, which works in Windows 32 bit and 64 bit.

2) To fix this issue follow the steps given below:
1. Download Ext2 IFS for Windows and Run file Ext2IFS_1_11.exe
2. Check "I Agree", Click Next to screen Drive Letters
3. Check "allocate drive letters automatically upon plugging in a device the first time"
4. Click Next
5. Click Next and after that Finish
6. Open Control Panel Windows Classic mode.
7. Now open Windows Explorer. All file operations possible, but formatting disk Ext2 from Windows.
