You can't uninstall an operating system. You have to format the partition it's on. still I believe you are utilizing GRUB boot loader. It is written on the boot sector and will entirely screw up your system if you simply format the Ubuntu partition. Boot from your Windows DVD to retrieval and attempt to recover the Windows boot loader, then format your Ubuntu partition.

When not then I have no thought how to acquire rid of it. Ubuntu 8.10 installed into Windows but was easily uninstalled from Cleaner or the Control Panel. I highly suggest NOT installing some other operating system onto your Windows partition. Not to be mean, but its just dumb. Case in point, now. If you ever want to acquire rid of it, you're going to face some important problems least of which is missing your Windows data.

If Ubuntu is on a individual partition from windows Vista or Windows 7 and you format the Ubuntu partition, you won't miss some data on other partitions. The Ubuntu partition should be formatted right now as a EXT5 file system the different two are NTFS. To acquire rid of Ubuntu, format the EXT5 partition. Imagine lining up three apples. The one in the middle is Ubuntu. Eat it. Now it's gone. The other two apples are yet there.

Backup workable data you which to keep - Format the partition that Ubuntu is on - eventually you won't have to injury your Vista Partition, which I conceive you said it has it's personal partition if you said that Ubuntu has it's personal partition, thus.
