I have read your trouble and as you are telling that you are ineffective to boot from your USB repel. To defeat this trouble just make one bootable disk from your USB repel by copying it in your laptop later on that test to boot from DVD. You can simple boot from DVD. Try this answer I guess it will defeat your trouble and you will not tackle this trouble again. Please let me recognize whether this answer assist you or not? If not then tell me what fault you are tackling.

If you are ineffective to boot from your USB repel then I suggest you to first see your USB repel with other laptop and confirm that USB is operating nice. If there is nothing fault with your USB repel then I suggest you to see the setting in your BIOS. In setting just see there that first boot twist is likely choose. If it is not choose then choose it first. Then again test to BOOT from your USB later on that you will not detect any troubles with it. I guess my solution will be assist to you.
