Default I have approximately difficulty on Merge in Ubuntu.

I had to 8.04 with the latest version and it works perfectly. All done well downloads of new programs to start the update. There was no question. But yesterday, I saw that some error in the update. I got to say, to report the error to the error report, and I clicked on it for the same. The error was associated with some MergeList. When you try to update got the same error with the Update Manager. It's just give errors when reading the list of packages. This is a serious flaw in the software management system.

Looks like some kind of serious bugs in the system. I can't find when the same only for testing purpose I Updated my version of Linux. Please check for a corrupted with synaptic package. I would advice you to check the permissions and the truth of the file/etc/apt/sources.list. This is the place where the registered program and do not forget to reload information software with: sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get install-f. Try some of this and then check back.

Here is a solution that can help you. To start with the root of the Nautilus. This is where you are going to make some changes to the root level, so you can't run on temporary permissions. Go to applications > Accessories > Terminal. In this type: sudo Nautilus. Now in the Nautilus, press Ctrl + H to look for/Var/lib/dpkg/. Locate and then rename it to status. res. Here seeking the status of the old file and rename it to status. Close all and try again. Delete the file status or loses the ability to install applications.

Then two days later, back when I had to run the software update and started getting this error after that.

This causes that could not run the sudo apt-get update, nor the Synaptic, or alike to install fresh applications from the console. After analytic in the forums and altercation lists on Ubuntu and Debian, I begin several solutions, about alone one formed for me. I allotment with you if addition would accept the aforementioned problem. To authorize the aforementioned you will appetite to abolish all traces of error. You charge canyon error: sudo rm/var/lib/apt/lists/vf. And run update, to see that aggregate is alive correctly: sudo apt-get update.
