Default The boot is not approachable substance on my machine.

I have two discs with me, which one is 500 GB SATA II and is not a partition of 50 GB in Windows. There is a second IDE drive of 160 GB and there is a 15 GB partition for Ubuntu 9.04. Now it is a dual boot system and it works fine until yesterday. But I was an unpleasant surprise, as it loads directly without the Ubuntu boot options, and when I tried to access the partition assigned to Windows 7 completely disappeared, was inaccessible.

What's missing from the startup file. This is the startup files it makes sense to run multiple operating systems. Now, this is why you do not get the chance to choose the operating system to start the computer, and you can use the CD Super Grub Disk. It is a sort of live cd, which indicates the amount of hard disk operating system. You must correct the startup files for the same. What you need to do is to install GRUB to the MBR and the disk to start the first and edit the menu.lst which is a configuration file of Ubuntu. Then add the entry window and try again.

The last option is the same reinstall the whole operating system back. The most commonly recommended for this error, boot device is inaccessible to format the hard drive and run the new operating system installation. But went to start Windows. For this you must start the Windows CD. Put the same, and to launch it. Go to Startup Repair and fix the MBR. Run the command fixmbr and then restart. Initialize a Linux section in Device Manager.

First, you must check the configuration jumper on your IDE hard drive. See it is recognized as the main channel, let other secondary IDE for the same channel. If the disk is used a secondary which is very possible that there is not seen in the BIOS or not exist at boot time. If you get disconnected during the installation of Ubuntu, and edit the boot manager. You will solve your boot for the same.
