IO-Data recently promoted in Japan its latest BRP-US6, a thin 6X Blu-ray disc burner. The slim external burner is perfect for use with your notebook/netbook on-the-go. It makes use of USB 2.0 interface.

IO-DATA BRP-US6 features speed of 6X burning for BD-R SL, 4X speed for BD-R DL, as well as 2X speed for BD-RE and reads BD-ROM at a speed of almost 6X. It also burns DVD+/-R at a speed of up to 8X, DVD+RW at 8X, DVD-RW at speed of up to 6X, DVD-RAM at speed of up to 5X as well as dual layer DVD+/-R at speed of up to 4X. CD-R/RW is also being supported.

The IO-DATA Blu-ray burner BRP-US6 is being supported on Sony’s drive. It measures approximately 137(W) x 154(D) x 20(H) mm as well as weigh not more than 330g. The USB Blu-ray writer will be presented by mid of December 2009.
