Many PCs are organized to boot from hard drive. With change to system BIOS, you can tell system to boot from floppy disk. This is helpful if you are having problems with OS, if infected with virus or having other issues booting PC. All Windows systems permit to make bootable floppy for these kinds of conditions.

Instructions

Step 1

Shut down PC, if it is running.

Step 2

Turn on PC and press "F1" key when logo shows on screen. For few PCs, you instructed to push "Delete" or another "F" key to enter system BIOS setup. This detailed on bottom of logo screen.

Step 3

Arrow keys are used to scroll though BIOS options until reach Start Up Sequence screen. This known as Boot Options or other terms, but you will see options now set to boot to Drive C:

Step 4

Modify sequence to A: to tell system to boot from floppy drive. You might give many choices, containing CD drive or second hard drive. Drive A is always floppy drive and must be first drive listed to boot. In many BIOS settings, this modification is completed by "PgUp" and "PgDn" keys.

Step 5

Put bootable floppy disk in floppy drive.

Step 6

Push "F10" key to save and close BIOS. System will save modifications and restart. PC will boot from floppy and show command prompt of "A:" when completely booted.
