Many laptops have some kind of CD or DVD drive already installed when buy it. As you take care of PC and do not drop it, you must not have major problems. But rarely disc you put in PC drive won't read appropriately, or PC does not identify drive itself. If any problems happen, fix it manually.
Instructions
• Open CD tray on laptop and take out disc. See bottom of CD to see if it is scratched or dirty. Disc like this can cause problems with CD drive and make it unfeasible for CD drive to read.
• Clean CD off with somewhat moist cloth and take out dirt and fingerprints. Wait for CD to dry and reinsert disc into PC to see if it runs appropriately.
• Spray two explodes of compressed air in CD drive on laptop. This helps eliminate any dust or garbage on lens.
• Run Internet browser on PC if system is not identifying drive at all. Create your way to Laptop Company’s website. Choose "Support and Downloads."
• Choose make and model of laptop from list of PCs and look around obtainable downloads. Download driver for laptop and install it after download completes. Now start to use CD drive again.
