The Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7240S is an internal DVD burner with 24x burning speed for DVDs in the + /-R format and with up to 48x speed on CD. The AD-7240S burns DVDs in + /-R format with up to 24x and CDs at up to 48x speed. The DVD-RAM and DVD + R9 format and dual layer DVD-R median describes the Sony Optiarc AD-7240S with up to twelve times the speed. DVD + RW Discs with up to eight times, and DVD-RW discs at up to six times faster. For DVDs, reached the AD-7240S 16x, CDs at 48x reading speed.

The Auto-Strategy Technology of the AD-7240S has already been integrated in the previous series AD-7200 and taken over due to good combustion results.
