Just a couple of weeks have passed since we presented our final test on the first generation of eight-time DVD burner. Meanwhile, manufacturers have refills and we can report on three other products in the 8x DVD burner. This is the LG GSA-4082B, the Asus DRW-0804P and the BenQ DW822A have joined us to present their performance to the test can.

In advance a few brief words on the test candidates. The LG GSA-4082B, as it suggests the product name, the successor to the GSA-4081B. In a direct comparison with the previous one has at LG now the burn speed in DVD-R media like the NEC ND-2500 increased to eight times. Otherwise, the GSA-4082B is the only burner in the test field, which gets along well with the description of DVD-RAM media.

The Asus DRW-0804P is based on the Pioneer DVR-A07 and provides the user find DVD + R /-R to read the possibility DVD-RAM discs - he cannot describe. Finally a few words about the BenQ DW822A, but this is currently the only burner that can formally describe via firmware update also supports double-layer DVD media.

A well worthwhile investment in the future, considering the increasing demands of users for more and more storage capacity. The free update is probably on 30 September appearing. Matching DVD-DL media should then be present in quantities.

But before we get into dealing directly with the drives, we want first of all a closer look at the delivery of our three candidates. All of us are in the respective retail version, so this is reflected in the end position the product, which can acquire the potential customer in the market.
