Thread: Tv tuner card

I have an Intel core 2 duo E8400 processor, A bit IP35E motherboard, 2 x 1 GB Transcend 800 MHz RAM, Seagate 250 GB hard drive and Western Digital 160 GB hard drive. I have old VHS tapes containing my family memories recorded earlier. I need to convert these tapes into DVDs. So please suggest a good TV tuner card, preferably LeadTek or if. u suggest any other. My budget is around Rs. 3,000 - Rs. 3,500. I have a VCR and a video camera which also use tapes. How should I connect it to the TV tuner card? Could you also suggest the way I should convert them? Is it available in Kolkata? Please reply.

A good quality video capture card or TV card should be and Aver Media are good enough for this purpose and have a good recording quality using the AV inputs. If your video camera has a FireWire port, then use a FireWire cable and connect it to the computer and transfer the videos using Windows Movie Maker or any other video editing program and edit the movies from the application itself. If the camera does not feature any FireWire port, use the AV out to connect to the TV card and record the video. The cards should be in your budget and is easily available with most local hardware vendors. Nero can also be used to convert and burn the videos to DVD.
