Thread: Laptop drivers missing

My laptop present this message, Windows cannot start because file shady system32\drivers \pci.sys you can try to repair this file by opening windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM. Select "r" and start repair. My bios password has been changed. I have tried to boot from cd-rom drive. I can access Boot Menu and safe mode, but not setup. Please help me to solve this problem.

If you cannot access BIOS due to key change, you follow manufacturer’s instructions for reset your CMOS on your motherboard. On Desktop, it is usually a jumper that you move from one pair of pins to adjacent pair, but may be switch or switch power must be off or unplugged. I assume that on laptop it would be similar. Go to mfg. site sustain and search for 'resetting CMOS'. You might find many surprise when you finally gain access and repair, so you might consider absolutely reloading windows from scratch.
