Default Casual files show up transparent

There is a file in one folder named 'Uses.jpg' and isn't transparent. But when I rename it to 'aUses.jpg', it goes transparent. I change it back and it's not transparent any longer, 'bUses.jpg' isn't transparent and so on. When I rename the file next to it 'aUses.jpg' however, it does NOT go transparent. This is all about my computer.

One out of the three images you point to in the screenshot there is the icon image on behalf of a zip type archive file. The other or third is an executable which would have its personal icon according to who formerly wrote it like the Software Company or free programmer.

The picture was a screen capture using the snipping tool available in the latest versions of Windows Vista and 7 which also sees various icon used for each dissimilar file type. Windows has an icon for practically everything.

To make things simple when arrange an image you can use the complete editor option when arrange and get the attach file option in that rather than with on Image shack or another image hosting since since the images often tend to disappear on you

I am work with Xp with Window blinds installed - that is the cause for said theme. And the files I pointed to were those rar's/exe’s but it seem to be extension-free I have seen this performance on exe, zip, rar, jpg and avi, there are prolly others as well. They look as if I were about to cut and paste these files elsewhere, but I haven't touched them. And this is happening with files all across the computer.

Similar to I mentioned it does this selectively to sure files and not others. I see no particular pattern to the files it is choosing to show 'transparent' like this. That RAR file shows transparent but another one won't for instance.

While looking at the screens I posted there you'll see that the background in the explorer windows are white just like the enlarged squares the file icons sit on. This tends to make the icon for each file place out as well as not have any transparency due to the white on while same color. With the Windows Blinds you tend to see the green background bleed through the white squares more noticeably instructive a pre aero style type of transparency due to the dark environment there.

What you are looking there is mostly the multi laying outcome where the white squares tend to be transparent while the image files near have a more hard white edge seen on those. The superior the view like thumbnails for the various files the more transparent the squares appear to be. Some of that can be cleared up simply by shifting the settings in the Display>Appearance>effects as well as falling the vision tab settings from large or thumbnail down to "list" specially in the animate icons.

If any main system files are found to be missing for example the SFC will expand and copy over substitute files from the I386 folder on the XP disk. This can help with a variety of small problems being come in Windows.

Now this issue isn't actually causing any problems other than what's going on, it's just worrying me since I have no idea why Windows would be making these files show as dull on my computer. It doesn't create any sense and there seems to be no model to it. I have tried asking around in windows on free node IRC. They just keep telling me to make sure the files aren't hidden/system, which I already know they aren't.

Your major problem traces right back to using a third party program for changing the look in XP there that is Windows Blinds. formerly you start using theme changers and other things to alter the Windows defaults you can run into problems at times having display issues along with the technique Windows uses to animate objects as per the Appearance settings and also the advanced system performance settings .

From the screenshot only just shows a slight glitch of some as dependable a result of the Windows Blinds. You can also try adjusting the different advanced display settings like effects as well as going from the XP style to Classic Windows or from that to the XP style as one means to see that will help any. The problem being an irritation however seems to be a minor problem unless you see it widespread where the advice then would be to remove Windows Blinds totally at least until the problem could be correct.
