Thread: Error messege while opening device mgmt....

My computer is running Windows XP operating system. Whenever i am trying to open device manager or the computer management window i am receiving an error message there on the screen that is something like its MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc. If you are having any solution for that, then please provide that solution to me. I will be thankful to you.

This problem may happen when one or more of the .dll files that are used by the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) are missing or corrupted. These files contain the following:

• Msxml.dll

• Msxml2.dll

• Msxml3.dll

For that you need to follow the below steps mention

• Go to start>> Run>>type cmd, and after that click OK.

• At the command prompt, type cd %windir%\system32, and after that hit ENTER.

• Type the following commands. Press ENTER after every command.

Regsvr32 Msxml.dll

Regsvr32 Msxml2.dll

Regsvr32 Msxml3.dll

• Type exit and after that press ENTER to close the Command Prompt window.

• Reboot the PC.
