We have seen a move of new issues from the two primary players in the graphics card market. Both ATI and Nvidia have been focusing on the mid-end functioning cards which provide you the most slam for your hard earned charge with products like the 8800GT and HD3870.
Both companies have been totally capacity to let the year-old 8800GTX sit at the top of the mass with its well-earned performance crown. Never earlier in new memory has a single graphics card held the lead for so long till today.*
Later what can only be called an unfortunate found of what was earlier guessed to be a challenger for the 8800GTX with their HD2900XT, ATI was purchased by the high-flying AMD.
Later then many things have varied with AMD but one thing has become seeming they are hell-bent on clutching back ATI’s direct in the graphics card market. With what can simply be called a highly fortunate set up of their HD3870 and HD3850 series, ATI and AMD are climbing on cloud number nine but still with these two strong products.
Because Nvidia is yet walking fairly with sole property of the high-end performance class and ATI needs to make a regenerated assault on this profitable market for both financial reasons and boasting marketing material .
When very good in their personal right their modern crop RV670 cores is not up to the task of aiming on the 8800GTX mono-a-mono so ATI and AMD had to arrive with something else. Enter the HD3870 X2.
