OCZ announced the availability of new DDR3 memory kits feature particularly low supply voltages, divided into versions Ultra-Low Voltage (ULV) and Extreme-Low Voltage (ELV). The difference between the two types on the power supply required: 1.35V to 1.5V for those modules ELV and ULV.
Underlying these voltages are the new standard ratified by JEDEC, DDR3L-specific memory modules that operate with lower power consumption of DDR3 solutions reference. From this supply voltage ULV solutions is lower than 1.65V typically required for certified DDR3 memory operating at 1,600 MHz clock frequency, especially in combination with Intel Core i7 systems.

ULV version is available with clock speeds of 1,333 MHz or 1,600 MHz with a capacity of 4, 8 and 12 Gbytes, depending on the type of kit. For modules ELV maximum clock frequencies remain unchanged, the size of the kit of 4 or 6 Gbytes and then using forms 2 Gbytes of capacity each. The new types of memroria ELV and ULV processors are available in different product families OCZ: the Platinum those Reaper HPC solution until the Gold model differentiated among themselves for the cooling systems used.
