In these cases it is advisable to test the monitor on another PC. If in another PC goes well then the problem may be the graphics card and if that other PC does not work well the reason is the monitor that has come to an end.
I also had that problem, take my PC to a technician and told me that the OS was corrupted but most likely the graphics card .
A resolution too high or not supported directly by the monitor Some video cards can give resolutions of 800x600 and 1024x768 for which the monitor is not a problem, but other boards can be placed midway between the two resolutions Previous the plate video can provide a specific resolution does not mean that your monitor supports it.
