    Default Setting ii Routers

Hey, I am a fully beginner to setting these type of things, so I want help to adjust another router which I am going to acquire. Recently I have one router in my room, yes it is dumb but there is only no way to move it anywhere else, It is only a pain in the ass to move it. The trouble is, it is upstairs, and there is not sufficient coverage downstairs, and I require a way to have the entire house covered. So what I am asking is, how is it to adjust another router so that my entire house would be covered.

I question you require 2 routers, you do most specify, but I will assume you are speaking about cordless coverage? If so you do not require a 2nd router you requirement a pair of access points in bridging mode to present a individual ESSID over multiple APs with seamless roaming among them. Check for WDS on the specifications of few APs, most half nice ones do this just. If your router supports it you could do this with 1 app and your recent router, but I tend to search it simpler to switch off the WIFI on the router and utilize 2 identical Apps.

I have 1 router that does the job for 3 floors which is a D-Link. I have tried with my laptop through going down to the basement and it functions well with an excellent signal. Do not waste your time purchasing another router which you do not need.

It really based on the structure and size of your house. For me, my house is so big and there is so many other cordless networks in the neighbourhood, so I required a second router to act as a repeater and I purchased an ASUS RT-N10+ and flashed the RT-N10+, assembled it as a cordless repeater bridge and it effectively extended the coverage of my house.
